My next solo exhibition is being held at THE SECRET GALLERY, NEWENT from 1-26 June 2021. Shake off those lockdown blues and come and see some great abstract art. I will be there every Saturday of the exhibition if you would like to come and meet me.
Come along to the Contemporary Art Fair at Newbury Race Course from 30 July - 1 August 2021. You will see me there with about 100 other artists. I will be on Stand 39, come and say hello.
I am a “late to the table” artist. In my youth I was happy producing “abstracty” art, but this was derided by a very “old school” art teacher. This put me off my art and my creativity crawled to the deep recesses of my consciousness.

A 30 year career in both the Army and the Police led me to be involved in the darker side of life seeing things no one should have to see. In that time, I suffered a number of tragedies and near tragedies in my personal life. From this I became quite reclusive.
Having had enough of the darkness I wanted to return to creativity, I wanted to leave a legacy.
I would call myself an eclectic expressive no rules abstract artist. Working mainly on canvas or canvas board I like to use bright colours and use an expressive and experimental approach to my work. I mainly use acrylic paint but do not restrict myself to one style. I like to use different mediums and processes to maximise my outcomes. I will occasionally return to the dark, if necessary, to help me create a particular piece, but I won’t stay there for long.
Daniel Casey has travelled extensively in his life but has now settled and lives and works in Chepstow. Daniel is a self-taught artist. He does not restrict himself to one type of style, but works mainly in abstract or semi abstract. Daniel is expressive in his work and he likes to experiment with different materials and processes.

Daniel has been involved in many different exhibitions and art fairs. During one of his solo exhibitions the BBC Arts Editor Will Gompertz said that he was honoured and humbled by this exhibition.
When Daniel first exhibited and saw people studying his work it gave him the validation he required and the inspiration and motivation to continue his pursuit of creativity.
Daniel's work can be found in collections in Belgium, The Netherlands, Australia and in many places around the UK.
My inspiration comes from many areas. It can be a place, a person, a song, an event in mine or others' lives. It can be hearing a word or phrase, it can even be just standing in front of a canvas and letting the paint speak for itself.
I love to talk to other artists and visit art galleries and always feel inspired from the other artists' inspired creations.
